Frequently asked Questions
What is Psychotherapy?
Answer
Psychotherapy is the supply, by qualified practitioners, of a professional relationship within which patients/clients can profitably explore difficult, and sometimes painful, emotions and experiences. These may include feelings of anxiety, depression, fear, abandonment, lack of purpose, difficulty in maintaining relationships, or perhaps the loss of meaning in one's life.
It is a process which seeks to help the person gain an increased capacity for choice, enhanced self-esteem and independence. It can enable the individual to become more autonomous, self-determined and feel more fulfilled. Psychotherapy may be provided for individuals or children, couples, families and groups.
